How to use medical gauze dressings correctly

The base material of gauze block is medical skimmed gauze, which should meet the requirements of YY0331-200 standard.
The gauze block should be soft, odorless and tasteless. Gauze block should be folded flat, no burrs, stubble exposed.
Sterilization of gauze block adopts ethylene oxide method, and the results of sterility test shall meet the requirements of GB/T14233.2.
Ethylene oxide residue should meet the requirements of GB/T14233.1, not greater than 10μg/g.

We know that medical gauze dressings are sterilized and used for wound protection.
When using it, we need to wash and dry the local skin of the affected area first.
Then apply the therapeutic medicine on the sterile gauze or on the skin.
Put the sterile gauze on the wound.
Then use medical adhesive tape to fix it.
The use of medical gauze dressing process is simple and easy to operate, but there are many details we need to pay attention to:

1, determine whether the medical gauze dressing is sterile, check whether the packaging is intact, and the outer packaging mark, production date, expiration date to confirm.
2、If the medical gauze dressing is sterile, it can be used directly. If it is non-sterile gauze dressing, it needs to be sterilized by high temperature and high pressure steam or ethylene oxide and other methods before it can be used.
3, the bandage should pay attention to the degree of tightness, not too tight, airtight will make the wound deteriorate, too loose will make the dust or other foreign matter into the wound, more unfavorable to the wound healing and recovery. And should be based on the patient's comfort level of medical gauze dressings for appropriate adjustment.
