Processing methods for dressings

Dressing preparation principles
1, the dressing should be made of skimmed cotton or gauze. Dressing quality according to the use of choice, such as square gauze, long gauze with general gauze, gauze with thin gauze; drainage strips with gauze tape or thin gauze.
2, the packaging of dressings should not be too large, so as not to contaminate the long-term unused. Sterilized dressings should be placed in a ventilated dry place for storage, and arranged according to the order of sterilization, marking.
Dressing processing method
1、Gauze
(1) Square gauze: used to cover wounds.
(1) Big square gauze: take 21cm*32cm gauze and fold it into 8cm*8cm.
② small square gauze: take 16cm * 22cm gauze, folded into 6cm * 6cm.
(2) Gauze ball: For scrubbing. Take 32cm*16cm gauze, fold it into strips and roll it into 4cm*5cm gauze balls.
(3) Drainage strips: used for drainage of various wounds, take 0.5cm, 1cm, 2cm wide gauze or thin gauze, remove the broken gauze at the edge of the drainage strip, fan folded, each wrapped in paper with a label.
(4) Vaseline gauze, gauze strips: used to protect the skin and wound drainage. Remove shredded yarn from the edges of the gauze or gauze strips, with the raw edges inward, fold the dressing, and place in a box. Pour in the dissolved petroleum jelly and prepare for use after autoclaving.
2、Cotton type
(1) cotton balls: artificial or machine made of cotton or cotton balls.
(2) Cotton swabs: take a small piece of cotton, tightly rolled in a fine swab, slightly larger at the top. Cotton swab length should be based on clinical needs.
(3) Cotton pads: take double gauze, the center of the cotton clip made.
3, cloth
(1) treatment towel: take cotton, made of 75cm * 45cm rectangular cloth.
(2) hole towel: take cotton, made of 80cm * 85cm cloth, the center of a 12cm diameter hole. When folded, the hole should be exposed.
(3) Wrapping cloth: take 3 kinds of cotton cloths of 108cm, 75cm and 45cm square, sew them into double layers with double bands at one corner.
4、Others
(1) Gauze ball with band: take 12cm*12cm gauze, wrap a ball of cotton inside, make a 4cm ball, tie the opening with a thread, the end of the thread is 40cm long.
(2) Disposable finished gauze, cotton swabs and cotton pads.
(3) Dressings applied by each specialty can be made by each department and sent to the supply room for disinfection and sterilization before use.
